PowerSchool had an annual Hackathon, where teams of developers worked together over 48 hours to produce a proof of concept for a new product or feature for the company. I was asked to help design the t-shirt for this hackathon.
I also participated in this hackathon and won first place. I led a team of three; a software rep of a natural language product, and a QA engineer. I designed and coded an Alexa app for parents to check on their student’s progress. I pulled data from a PowerSchool server for several academic areas; attendance, grades, and assignments. All of this was stood up on a brand new AWS account in 48 hours. It was pretty cool, as I’d never even seen an Echo before that project.
